First Lutheran Church is OPEN.

First Lutheran Church wants you to worship in peace and safety.  Therefore, we are taking many precautions to protect those in worship.

  1. Masks are highly recommended and encouraged.
  2. Pews are marked for easy social distancing.
  3. Hand sanitizer is readily available in many locations.
  4. The air ventilation is on for the entire service ensuring clean air is brought inside.
  5. No hymnals are currently being used.  Instead, the entire service is printed.
  6. Communion is done by individual or family, not in 'tables' (groups).
  7. Tithes and offerings are collected in a receptacle, not by passing offering plates.

Updates (1-9-21):

  • Masks are still encouraged as the transmission numbers have increased with Omicron.
  • We are now resuming in person Sunday School, Bible Class, mid week Bible Studies, etc.
  • Hymnals are again in the pews and being used.
  • Options are available for those who desire to commune at the altar.

Therefore, I shall ask God mercifully to protect us. Then I shall fumigate, help purify the air, administer medicine, and take it. I shall avoid places and persons where my presence is not needed in order not to become contaminated and thus perchance infect and pollute others, and so cause their death as a result of my negligence. If God should wish to take me, he will surely find me and I have done what he has expected of me and so I am not responsible for either my own death or the death of others. If my neighbor needs me, however, I shall not avoid place or person, but will go freely.”
