The First Lutheran Men's Group meets at 9am on the Second Saturday of each month. They enjoy fellowship, Bible study, outings, activities and anything else we can think of to keep them out of trouble. Men (and boys) of all ages are welcome.
Why the Magi?
The Magi were men seeking Jesus. And, as we all do, they ended up in the wrong spot. Instead of going straight to Bethlehem, where Jesus was, they went to where they thought He would be; Jerusalem. Makes sense. Where else would a king be born?
When we get off track, like the Magi, we have to go to the Scriptures. And, that is exactly what happened. The magi of the court of Herod, opened the Scriptures, and pointed the Magi to Jesus.
How fitting is that for us men? Doing our best to find and follow Jesus, we get off track. We are selfish, prideful, and, let's be honest... we don't always stop and ask for directions. But, the Scriptures, like the Star of Bethlehem, gets us back on track, pointing us toward our Savior.
“Where is he who has been born king of the Jews?
For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
